Make sure that you’re communicating with clients at every stage of the engagement, from the sales process through to completion of the assignment? Be clear about your prospective that where you’re at, what’s been completed, what’s coming up next, who’s responsible of what.

Commitment to your customers – commitment to your customers is like commitment to your business because without your customers, you have no business.Commitments are authoritative because they influence how you think, how you sound, and how you act. Don’t ever dismiss the power of all the little things. Together they can make all the difference and really separate you from the competition. Returning calls and emails in a timely manner. Providing useful information to the customers on a daily basis. Showing appreciation for your clients through things like thank you notes, exclusive client-only, briefings, etc.
Be Patient with Your Explanations
The typical client does not have a great understanding of the market, and that is why they are hiring you. As you are explaining things to them throughout the process, be patient and remember that this is probably not an aspect of their business that they are very comfortable with. Clients appreciate who show patience and a willingness to explain things in a way that they can understand, without putting them down.
Keep it Professional
While you are communicating with clients, whether it is face-to-face, telephone, or email, always stay professional. Clients are paying for your services and they will expect you to conduct your business in a professional manner, so avoid things that could cause them to see you differently. That’s not to say that you can’t get to know your clients on a more personal level, but remember that what you say and write can impact your client relationship.
